Apart from the suspect fuel consumption, sluggish get away from standstill as posted in other threads I also have an intermitent fault that they can't cure. Sometimes on start up the yellow triangle warning light stays on and I get the message that the ESP is unavailable. After a few yards down the road the light goes out and the message disappears.

The ESP must be working as hill start function still works (which is connected to the ESP). Yesterday the message was different, stating that the ABS was unavailable.

Has anyone else had this problem? Do the ABS and ESP use the same wheel sensors - if so is it one of these?

Car is 1.9 multijet (150 bhp) auto.

I have a problem something like that.

I washed my 2,4 MultiJet and after that i get: ABS, ESP, ASR and Hill Holder faulire report says "see handbook" :( so Please help me!

After that i disconnect car battery and conected later and now i have: ABS, ESP, ASR and Hill Holder faulire reports and windows security left, right, front, rear (all windows faulire reports) so please help atleast with first 4 reports ABS ....................

Wordstaker, the window 'problem' is normal after you have disconnected the battery as the anti-pinch setting has been lost. The fix is in the handbook but basically start the engine and open each window in turn but HOLD DOWN the switch for a couple of seconds after the window is fully open. Then close the window and keep the switch selected again for a couple of seconds. This should reset it.

Can't help on the other probs though!

As you say the brake switch has been adjusted, I would check your EARTH terminations for connection and/or severed wire!!

Thanks for posts.
If i had fixed the problem do i still need to reset something or?

ABS problems will give you these warnings - I ran the car in gear with one wheel off the ground and all the warnings you mention came on - the car thought an ABS sensor had failed. Once I drove it for a few seconds it reset itself though. In your case I think you'd be best off taking it to a dealer to get the codes read etc, at least they should be able to give you some direction.
HTH.

Hi Folks

Seven months on and a number of futher failures including engine management lights and gearbox failure warnigs, the car is fixed - traced to, would you beleive? a bit of metal floating around in the engine management ECU shorting out various bits and pieces on its journey.
