cant see how. 1000rms / 2 = 500rms. i might be mising something. Chaos will be along in a bit, he'll know.

Its a DVC sub isn't it?
If you wired the subs so that the amp sees 2 ohm, and have a 2000WRMS @ 2 ohm amp, that would be sufficient, I think. It is a tad late, but I'll go and double check. The JL amp, from what I can find, will put out 1000WRMS at either 2 or 4 ohm. Therefore, it would be a sufficent amp to power 1 TS-W3004SPL, but not 2.

It would half the resistance (2ohm) so will double the output. 1000W x 2 = approx 2000w.

It will be ample for those subs.

I was editing my post when FF logged me out  I think I made a mistake or 2 in my previous post.

Going by this - http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rfte...+Voice+Coil+-+4+ohms+x+2&image.x=25&image.y=4 you can make the two subs show a 4 ohm load to the amp. You would want a 2000W RMS amp @ 4 ohm, I think.

You could use it as a D2 configuration to make the amp see a 2 ohm load and have a 2000WRMS @ 2 ohm amp. I hope that's right anyway.

Chris, from what I can gather from the amp specs, it will run at 1000WRMS from 1.5 ohm to 4 ohm. The voltages change though from 11V to 14.4V, i.e the impedance changes with input voltage and not with wattage.

:woot: 2000 posts! :D

Sorry but looking at the info you would need 2 of those amps:( no matter how you configered the subs to get 1000RMS to both subs.

Stve

I did have amps for sale that would have 3000w at 1ohm but have just sold all eight !!

If your looking at that sort of power then look at the utopia discount thread and give the owner of utopia a call. Powerbass have just launched there new 2000w amp at the ces show in the states and is well worth a look as I believe it will be very cheap for the power + you can use the 20% discount.

Always best to ask for advise when dealing with bass monkeys as they tend to sell you what will give them the biggest profit margin, not what is best suited to your system imo.

So I was right :). I was so knackered last night, I couldn't think straight :D
