Just thought i'd let you all know about a serious whine that was coming from the engine in my 2.0 Eleganza. Sounded like the engine was on its way out.
Turned out to be the aux belt tensioner and an easy fix to boot!! I replaced the tensioner as well as the guide pulley and a new belt to be safe
. The 3 parts cost £70 and only took a half hour to fit.
Easy access to the tensioner and guide pulley from the osf wheel arch.
Other forums/threads seem to suggest this might be a common problem and one to watch out for.
Now i'm a happy camper for the rest of the evening
