Hi all.... recently swapped a cinqy engine for a 1.2 punto 60 in my old cinq which was really fun to drive, but not nippy enough so i replaced the car with a sei that had a 1.2 85 16v punto engine which was fast as fck lol... that car has now been sold due to wanting to go back to a cinq. Does anyone know the biggest engine we can fit into the cinq engine bay... we want a street sleeper that looks standard but packs a bit more ooomph than it should.... Im not bothered about lifting the bonnet a few cm's higher, and using the ecu from the other fiat donor vehicle.. i was looking at the 1.4 turbo punto, and possibly the 1.6 N/a.. has anyone managed to squeeze one in, or are they far too big? reason im asking is i dont have a fiat at the min to measure up due to me driving a vauxhall :O haha. just want a project to do as the last engine swap was a good laugh to do. Looking for something that basically sits on similar mounts etc like the punto 60 swap.

Massive amount of fabrication with the old Uno lump. And I'm not sure that anyone has got one to handle properly!

Biggest "easy" swap is box and engine out of a 1.4 16v: so, new 500, Stilo 1.4 16v, Panda 100hp, etc.

Alarmingly fast, should do low 15s out of the crate. See the Emma/Aaron thread in let's talk FIAT and Kris's thread for two different ways to do it.

Right il be looking for the 1.4 16v stilo haha.... i assume the fuel tank, pumps etc will need swapping over... the only reason i dont want to go turbo is to keep the project costs down.... Will the 1.1 sporting box line up with the 1.4 block? il have a search for that thread... cheers

Box will fit, but way better to get engine and box. That way you get a tougher box, bigger flywheel, clutch if you're lucky, etc.

There's been a Panda 100hp running in the Polski endurance series knocking out 140 odd bhp (finished 3rd), so this is a way cheaper way than a tub (and you can always fit a turbo later :devil:).

foxyemz and j333evo did the 1368 swap into a sei, check out their thread (cant remember who started the thread, one of them though) will give you some idea

Oops fingers beat me to it!

Little OT, but was at the Poznan (poland) racing track today for a training session for the polish racing car championships. There's one crazy Seicento in the <2000 class. I'm guessing it's running a modded 1,4 engine. Will have a talk with the team tomorrow if they won't be too busy.

Some pics of it from a hill climb;

My god, that looks like they pulled it out of a scrap heap!

In my opinion it would be easyer to get a full punto85 say with panel damage then you have the engine box ecu fuel pump and brakes etc and if you want it a little faster a manifold and cams will do the trick but i recon you could use the punto85 ecu to run the 1368cc?.
Or do a 1368cc 8valve with raised compression

Yeah thats true but looking at cost and simplicity it might? But only prob is the management issue for the 1.4. The 1.4 is the better starting point. Then it comes down to how much one can spend

go the full way if its a project get out a big shoe horn an squeeze a 1.4gt turbo in there it would b absolutly ridicuously silly fast the acceleration would b brilliant
