hi guys, right ive started strippin my engine bay But come across a few obsticles lol

The main concern is the Ijnector Rail..I cant get it off, well havnt got a screw driver small enuff (havnt got the best of tools lol) to get inbetween the rocker cover and the screw...Does the cover have to come off?

All ive got left really is exhaust (need mole grips as 2 screws on the heat shield are rusty as hell and rounded)Once thats of im hoping i dont snap the manifold bolts aswell (connection bolts to the front pipe is off)...
The injector rail.,a few water pipes,at the back and 2 that are still attached to the front..(Cant get these feckers off as theyre like superglued and dnt wana rip them) :s
And the loom, well most of it is up just a few sensors/clips are still attached.

thats about it really.

Oh im going to need a new water hose (as i split 1,oops lol)..A header tank,as when i pulled the overflow hose off it pulled the little pipe off with it lol
And a air intake as its slit to hell..Had tape on it lastime but its knackered now

Hi Mike,

you need to remove the rocker cover to get the fuel rail/injectors out.

you need ribe bits to get the rocker cover off and a TX40 bit to undo the fuel rail bolts from memory, then you need to give it a good pull and kinda rock it side to side uptil it pops off.

as for the stuck water pipes, get some grips over them and rotate it back and forth a bit to brake the seal (you will feel when it goes) then just pull it off easily :)

good luck,
Ry

Hi Mike
Those water pipes are a gitter arnt they ;)

As ryan says, i got a few off by rocking them in all directions. The others i used mole grips gently. They kind of suddenly come loose. Same with fuel pipes.

Im not sure how the 20v is setup exactly but on my 1.4 I just took the auxiliary mounting off the old block and put it on the new block, rather than farting around taking the alternator off with all those bolts butted up agains each other.

I also wanted to use my original auxiliary mount because I knew it was not bent. They must take some hits rolling around on scrap yard floors.

unfortuately Adrian even if you manage to get the cast mounting to engine bolts undone the lot wont come past the chassis leg, i've tried it before to save time.

the altenator bolts are a bastard to get, you need a 19mm spanner with a multipoint end to try and slacken off the nut a bit and get some motion in it, then undo the 2 bolts at the front of the altenator and try get the belt off.

Ry
