Hi I have just bought a doblo for my first van. It's an 02 plate 1.9 d SX
It has this squeak only heard if it is running and the oil cap is removed. Anyone have any ideas to what this is?

Any chance you can do a video take and post on here. Having said that, I personally haven't linked video takes to this forum but would assume it can be done.

Having a stab in the dark, as it had recent work done on it (cam belt perhaps) that would have resulted in the auxilliary belt being removed? Only mentioned because mine had an horrendous squeel which turned out to be the auxilliary belt being slightly out of alignment on the pulleys. Took it back off and refitting it and job was a goodun.

Unsure of any new belts been fitted but will take a video and try upload it.

Sounds like some sort of back pressure - does it run OK or lose/use oil?
What happens if you put your hand over the oil filler hole (with the cap removed), does it suck or blow?

To get to the video, I copied the link (control c), then opened up google, pasted the link and done a google search. It went straight to Dave's video and played.

It blows out from engine and when you cover it the squeak goes away.
It doesn't use oil and doesn't smoke out the back

I can't give you a precise answer to your question but when I first got my 05 1.9JTD with 107k on the clock I had a noticeable 'blow' from the top of the engine. I'll have a look to see if it's still doing it.
When I first got mine I had a severe oil leak from the timing belt end crank shaft seal. It was pretty evident that my motor had not been maintained properly over the last few years by the previous owner so without giving it to much indepth thought, after sorting the seal, I did an engine oil flush. Debatable if thats a good idea or not. I also had the EGR valve off and cleaned that up - it was sooted up solid. Touching wood, since the car is running fine and not burning oil, I put the top end blowing to one side and carried on as normal. Additionally, the oil is clean with no water contamination (head gasket fears).
Like I say, I will have a look to see what the status is regarding the top end blow if it helps put your mind at rest.

Thanks for your info. Have only had the van a couple of weeks changed the oil when I got it and it's still at the max mark the van has a few bits needed seeing to, the wiper switch has a mind of its own works when it wants and the ball at the gear box that the gear stick connects to pops out every so often.
I expected a couple of problems with it being 11 year old.

If I find out what's causing the squeak I'll let you know.
