Engine revs flat out?

Hi, posted a similar thread on the general forum as im a newbie, but thought this might be a better place for it. My 1.2 punto decided to blow a head gasket last weekend and i decided to repare it myself due to costs, i decided to do other items ie cambelt, waterpump got the head checked out as it must have got very hot and decided to pull a valve seat out with the valve. I managed to get the head sorted for a reasonable price. now on completion of the rebuild, to my delight it started first time but with a snag, it runs but as soon as it starts the revs go to flat out and large amounts of smoke comes from the engine breather on the rocker cover. Have i done something wrong or is a sensor playing up any ideas would be great as i need my car soon to go back to college. many thanks
