General engine question

Would mk2 1.2 8v engine cylinder block fit in to mk1 ? same 1.2 8v .

You may have to swap the engine mounts over, and the crank pulley and water pump (check against the belt from the Mk1) but otherwise, no problem.

Essentially the block is identical, but has a boss for a knock sensor (which you won't use unless you fit an aftermarket ECU.
