;) Hello
I bought a yellow cinquecento 1.1 sporting and when it is going properly goes great, but the problem I have is that every now and then the engine management light comes on, and then the car feels hesitant accelerating and generally lumpy, and on occasion feels as though it is going to stall.
I have read lots about different problems but generally its doing my head in. I drove it all the way to work, about 17 miles and it played up all the way, drove back home in the evening without missing a beat. Any ideas, please help??

when did vehicle last have a service? if you dont know a full service - plugs filters etc etc would be first port of call :)

If problem persists though it may need a diagnostic doing to find out the cause

As above, but one thing you might do (I suspect it may be wiring related as sometimes it's OK, othertimes it's bad) is check out all the earths (may as well physically remove them, scratch them up to bright metal with a scotchbrite pad and cover them with vasaline or silicone grease) and take a peek at the lambda sensor wiring (underneath the car) -- sometimes the wiring is bodged when folk fit pattern ones.

Thanks for help, I have not done a service on it and I don't know when it was last done. The car is Ok when it rains, but it does seem to play up after it has been out in the wet, usually the day after. This is not the case all the time though. Perhaps it needs new plugs and leeds and I will also check earth conections and the lambda sensor. Any other other ideas appreciated. Cheers,,, waza.
