General engine moutn problem

Hi Guys, been having a few bits done to my cinq sporting in the last week and need a new engine mount, thing is my mechanic doesnt know which one to get as different garages telling him different things, would anyone know the part number from FIAT or the name of the mounting i require...

Its the mount which is situated to the back of the engine towards the middle?

if thats too vague then sorry im not very clued up, just really want it sorted so i can drive it properly again

rear gearbox mount.

if you use the eper link at the top of the page, you can find in in fiats own system and get in touch with a dealer.

or contact frogbitz/fluffy the impaler (on clubcento) as he will be cheaper i'd guess

Hi there,

I think I have the same problem. Symptoms are rattly engine when pulling way and crunchy clutch when engagin gears 1-2 and 2-3. I've seen on another thread that it's an easy job to do yourself. Can anyone post a guide or direct me to one? Also, how can you tell which mount is shot? Is it worth replacing all of them in one go or are some easier to do than others?

You tell by having a look.. Your looking for degraded rubbers on the mounts.. There is no need to change all at the same time, just as and when they are needed.

The rear mount doesn't really need a guide, it all makes sense once you look at the layout of the thing.

The clunking pulling away will almost certainly be the rear mount. The crunch is probably clutch adjustment.

every cinq ive ever bought has had a dodgy rear mount..
easy job to do..
infact.. the one i bought last week needs a new one!

Thanks guys, great swift responses. Just one more thing, do I access the mount from underneath? I've had a quick look from the top of the engine bay but can only see the nearside front mount.

From underneath. Jack up the car on the passenger side, put an axle stand under it and then use the jack to take the weight of the box as you remove/replace the mount.

Just a follow up on this. I got hold of a new mount and jacked it up this morning only to find the mount in pretty good condition but no nut holding the bolt that goes through the mount. Only problem is I can't get the bolt out to take it somewhere and find a nut to fit. Any idea what size but I need or how I can get the bolt out? I'll put a pic up when I get back from work of what's down there if you can't imagine it.
