Technical Engine heat shroud

Hiya,

Is there any use for the right hand side (exhaust side) heat shroud (is that what you call it) in the summer. I only intend to use the car in warm weather so would it be worth just keeping it off?

I think part of the function is to keep direct heat away from the Dizzy and the Coil. I would tend to leave it on regardless.

Thanks for the advice. I checked the heat controller and it's knackered so I took it out with the flap so it's always open.
