Normally people try and up the power in a punto but how much faffing is it to change a 1.2 16v to a 1.1 8v?
Ecu I can understand.
Brakes and suspension is fine.

Fuel pump, loom,magic tree colour?
Call me crazy but the 1.2 that is currently installed is old and probally about to die so in the mean time I have a couple of 1108's to recon and fit back in.
Any advice please ,thankyou :)

I have the 1108 in another punto with ecu and all the ancillaries.
But the body is 3 door and dented like our economy.
I figured it might of been easy to do a strait swap

The problem with a less powerful engine in a car is often it has to work harder to get and keep the car moving anyone remember the 1.3 ford sierra?

I know it's only 1.2 to a 1.1 but if you consider the above you most likely won't see any differences maybe 2-3 miles per gallon Improvement if the two engines were in brand new top condition

If the Punto has no body computer and you have all the imobiliser gubbins and ECU from the 1108, it shouldn't be an insurmountable task. But I'd actually expect economy to suffer -- 1108s are generally better on fuel economy than 899s, 1242 Cinqs are often at least as good as the 1108s.

1.2 16v engines are pretty cheap nowadays -- everyone wants 1.4s or T Jets in their Cinq!
