engine/clutch judder when changing low gears and pulling away

just bought a brava 1.2 sx year 2000 for the mrs to do the school run. nice little car with one problem. it judders when you pull away from standing and changing from 1st - 2nd gear, and 2nd - 3rd, none of the other ones due to momentum.
i've changed plugs and HT leads, as thought it might be breakdown of these componants under load, but hasn't fixed it. i'm not leaning towards the clutch!
has anyone any other idea or can they confirm this might be the case?

hi there it sounds like ur pressure plate so ur looking at a clutch job

Sounds like either the clutch plate or the bearings, try asking in the dedicated section for your car as you're far more likely to get a knowledgable response on how your clutch works and what type of problem it's likely to be
