Can anyone tell me how long the pipes are that take water away from the bonnet area, sven says to clean them with a long cable tie, but will this reach all the way through them?

Also when i changed my bonnet release cable water came out when i removed the grommet that separates the footwell from the engine bay - could this be connected with the drains being blocked, or have i another problem?

cheers,

Ed

you dont really need anything drasticaly long mate i used a chostick and it was more than enough to clear the drainage areas :) good thing about the chopstick is its a lot firmer than a cable tie and wont damage the paint work either :D

Ed, that guide aint mine - just so I dont take credit.

But you can always do one thing more, in the left and right far down corners (the ones near the engine mount and the fuse box) are 2 rubber pipes that also get clogged. To clean them, just press there ends so the pipe widens - the pipes have pressed ends so water cant go in from the road, but that is the reason why it collects dirt in it self.
