General ems light comes on

The ems light is coming on in my 1.4 Stilo Active 04. The garage I took it to couldn't find where to plug the computer into. It said drivers side under the dash behind the money holder. Wasn't there though. anybody help.

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

The EOBD socket is at the top of the fuse box behind the drop down panel in front of the driver's right knee. May need a torch to see it.

Garage says no faults being reported. Battery could be doing with a charge though. Let's hope that's all it is.

Thought I'd give you an update on the ems light problem.

After reading some advice on the site I managed to stab a guess that the battery was probably the problem.

If I used no electrics when driving the engine management light stayed off. Done this for ages with no faults.

Started using lights/heater/radio. Ems light started up again.

Since the winter nights are approaching thought I should get the battery renewed. That was four days ago,driving now with electrics again and thankfully no problems.

I hope this helps anyone else having similar problems.
