The radiator fan is not kicking in my 20v, I have checked the relays, resistors and the actual motor - all are working fine.

However, I have found that there is no power going to the actual relay itself hence I think that there is a corroded wire somewhere so am going to have to trace it back.

Does anybody know whether there is any areas which are worth an immediate look - ie possible areas where water can get in before I start messing around with the wiring loom.

Thanks

the fan is negatively switched (it is earthed to switch it on) so the fan always has a live supply. if there is no live getting to the relay you should check that it is getting ot the fan. if it is, you know the problem is betwen fan and relay. if it isnt you know the problem is before the fan.

assuming no live at fan:
check the fan's 40a fuse.

assuming live at fan:
do a continutiy check on the wire from fan to relay.
if no continutiy is found you need to check the connections on the limiting resistor and condition of wiring.

for a description of the fan system, and wiring diagram pic, and pics of some connectors, see here:

Just something to check - when my radiator fans stopped working on my Marea the culprit was found to be the wires as they connected to the base of the relay holders. They relays were fine. Cut the wires off and replace the holder with new crimps on the wires and that resolved my issue.
