I think Ive got to the bottom of it.

The mk1 one touch windows are controlled by a rectangular green box that sits in the glovebox between the two yellow relays. The product code is 7732354.

The mk2 is controlled by the same unit but its under the bonnet at the front of the car, behind the passenger headlight.

If someone with a mk2 could have a look for that unit it would be handy, it seems a funny place for it to be, but thats what EPER seems to indicate.

If that isn't it for the mk2 then it will be the integrated services electronic control unit which is the black cassette type affair in the glovebox. Product code 46550225 but I think the other one is probably it.

ePer indicates it to be behind the glovebox within the cassette type box on mine.

I think youre looking at the wrong thing ePER indicates it to be here on the mk2 (see pic).

The cassette* is probobally not it, I say this because the mk1 has no cassette* but they both have this green rectangular box or at least the models with one touch windows seem to and if you search Boo, you will find a post from 2005 where someone had got it working and posted a guide on his site (sadly the guide is no longer).

Forget the cassette* and the relays, my moneys on the green box.

Yeah jug I think your probobally right lol.

Reading through all the threads on it yesterday, it was a bit confusing, people saying they had done it, it couldn't be done, it was the relay in the glovebox, it was the cassette.

If mine had had the relay in the glovebox it would have been simple, but as it wasn't there it made the negative or alternative posts seem more believable. I guess all the people adding confusion to it were either in the same boat as me, not having the green box (relay) or anywhere for it to go or maybe mk2 owners if it is indeed behind the headlight.

unfortunately its 2 relays in one, you can tell by the number and arrangement of pins (and size).

so that means you cant replace only one relay.

the next step is to decide if both relays are the same type (should have a couple of relay maps marked on the green plastic casing). i doubt they will be the same because in situations where 2 identicle relays are used, it is very rare to see a double sized relay, you expect to see 2 seperate relays of the same type.

if both are the same we know the one touch feature is controlled elsewhere.

if they're different is means the relay controls the one touch feature (in which case some relay modification is needed to get double one touch).

i think it sounds like the relay controls it, using the conventional noise method to switch off, so i assume one relay will have the noise circuit built in and the other wont (hence the green box).

do any mareas have double one touch? if they do the double relay from one of them could be a good option.

i cant take it any more, i want to go home and play with this green box of wonder.
