Hi, the question I have is : my 124 blows the #2 fuse when it is put in gear and driven only a short distance. The only thing I have changed in the near past is, I put in a new elec fuel pump about a month ago. The fuse problem started soon after.

Just a suggestion...... if something has got into the fuel lines, blocking or severely restricting the pipes of filter, this could increase the electrical current load on the pump causing the fuse to blow.

Dave.

it is a great thought to look back to the last thing you changed when you start having issues. did the issue start immediately after you replaced the fuel pump, or at some time "soon" after?

help! what year is your car? a '74 ?? or is it fuel injected, 1980.5+ ??

different wiring diagrams for different cars. and if it is not fuel injected and is not a 1974, then your electric fuel pump is not original equipment... and most likely has been poorly wired by the previous owner if you are constantly blowing fuses because of the pump.

also, what pressure is your new pump pushing? are you certain that you purchased and installed the correct type of pump. carbureted vehicles take a different fuel pressure than fuel injected cars.

a case of NEED MORE INFO, please and thank you.
