I've recently purchased a 1.9 multijet 150 sport Bravo. It's on 120k miles and was shuddering under acceleration in 4th and 5th gears. I done a bit of searching on here and found a few people saying this can be a sign of a blocked egr. Being a mechanic myself last night was a bit quiet at work so I whipped it off and gave it a clean. When I drove the 15miles home it seems to now drive a lot better and have solved the problem but the engine light is now on. I'm sure I read somewhere that this is normal and after a few drives it will go off but I now can't find where it was I read that so obviously I'm worrying a little bit! Just wondering if anyone can clarify that before I go pulling it all apart again!

Hi,
I would read the codes befire pulling it apart again. If you don't hve a code reader at work tht covers Fiats, Multiecuscan www.multiecuscan.net is excellent.
Did you clean the MAP and MAF sensors while you were in there? The MAP sensor has a little temperature sensor in the end that is easily damaged when cleaning it. If you didn't clen the MAP sensor I suggest you do as it gets clogged up . Does your car have an EGR restrictor plate fitted? It's a recommended modification by Fiat. See https://www.fiatforum.com/miscellan...v-mjtd-egr-valve-restrictor-installation.html

Think i've fixed it. Disconnected the battery and while that was off took the egr back off checked it was all working OK, the plug was quite loose so made sure I really crammed that on, put it back on, reconnected the battery and had about ten different warning lights on, got a bit worried I'd really messed it up. But then took it for a spin and everythings now gone off so fingers crossed...
