Hi! I joined to clear out parts from an unsuccessful 850 Spider 24 Hours of Lemons build, but ended up creating something useful in the process.

I designed a setup combining a VW coil pack, 36-1 trigger wheel, and Ford crank position sensor that's compatible with both Microsquirt and EDIS. The system uses a steel toner ring that bolts to the crank pulley and an aluminum sensor bracket mounted to the oil pan with slightly longer bolts. Cost was under $100 as a one-off from Oshcut. I have Fusion360 sketches for these. The first "hard" prototype is 1mm off perfect alignment, but is usable.

Is there interest in electronic ignition/injection for these cars? Happy to share designs or help with modernization projects if anyone wants to pursue this.
