Hi

This is my first post on this forum so just introducing myself and sadly jumping straight in there with a question.

My mate has just bought a 1985 Ducato motorhome, its been retro fitted with a 2.5 diesel and a 5speed gearbox a little while before we got it and on the whole its not bad for the year.

There is a serious water leak on the valve at the end of the heater box where the valve connects to the heater matrix. Does anyone know if I will need to remove the dash to remove the heater box.

Or maybe if its possible to disassemble the heater box without removing the whole thing.

There are other probs with it other than the leak, the flaps aren't working properly and the blower motor is noisy. I'd rather remove and replace or rebuild it in one go.

Thanks
Toad !!

Hello all,

I would also be interested in finding the best way to go about removing the heater fan, mine is a loud as a box of tortoises on crack !:D

Hi

Its a job I've still not done, we ended up rebuilding most of the interior so its on the jobs list but not even attempted yet, still searching for an answer myself.

I really don't want to take the dash out but I do want to repair the heater properly.
If ya do find any info I'm still looking....

as far as i know the fan just screws to the side of the casing , my none mechanic brother-in -law has just done his with no trouble i believe there are two types all the best

Hi

I need to remove the whole heater box I think, there is a leak on the heater matrix, the fan is noisy plus there are problems with the controls too. A replacement heater unit would be preferable but its unlikely one will become available.

I still haven't got round to this job as I've spent most of the winter renovating the interior of this truck. There was a damp problem we didn't know about that turned out to be quite extensive due to the original seam sealer having gone hard and brittle.

So anyone with a heater box or any idea how to remove it, I need help....

Toad.
