General Ducato EGR replacement solenoid

There is a youtube video on replacement of solenoid for a Ducato the part is K5T70977. Fiat wants to sell valve plus cooler.
this into ebay gets hits for part valves and items for Vauxhall ASTRA insignia Zafira 2.0 diesel as well as ducato. The Vauxhall part is a lot cheaper than advertised for Ducato (the ebay parts checker says the vahul part is suitable for my Duke.
Are there any other well known alternatives available for other parts?

Can you check from your engine series number?
I had a 2010 Fiat Scudo 2.0 litre that use the Peugeot RHK engine so a wide range of models to choose parts from.
Not sure if your Ducato is a Fiat based engine with more limited options for parts.

This was original specked for a 2012 mine is a 2017 and ebay (for what its worth )comes up with vauxhall and ducato advertised parts with same partnumber thier parts checker says its suitable for mine. probably even your Doblo. There is no real reason why they should be the same with manufacturers designers just picking from a parts selector.

The Scudo I mentioned was supplied with the 8 valve and later versions like mine were the 120-130 Hp 16 valve Peugeot engines, however the 2 litre version of some of the Doblos I have is the Fiat based engine and easier to work on.
That was why I enquired re the Engine Series number.
I see the earlier Ducato 2.0 litre was the Peugeot RHV engine , but later Ducatos and Doblo 2.0 litre engine used a version of the Fiat 263. and 250. Series.

I’m guessing this video is what you refer to?

As a former parts man the challenge of finding parts that interchange is something I relish in - I tend to find the OE number first then head over to sites such as Autodoc( I don’t buy from them just use their cataloguing) which once you’ve dealt with barrage of redirections and pop-ups you can then input your OE ref and will find a host of aftermarket variations from different manufacturers - once you found an item from say TRW, try their catalogue and check their cross references tables. More often or not components are shared across other manufacturers - it is time consuming though and sometimes leads to a dead end.

Like a fool I chucked all my old parts catalogues from Unipart, NGK,Lucas, Lockheed, Girling Brown Brothers, etc. many had cross references to other brands.:(

Glad to see you havent had a sence of humor bypass.
Can I stop crying now, the howling is upsetting the neighbours.;)
I always work on, you have to take it, if you are going to give it.
Starting work in a garage environment as an apprentice late 60s was great for taking the pi**.
Probably wouldn't be allowed to do it these days, they would all demand indefinate leave for hurt feelings, poor little darlings.
Years later as foreman, we had a marine department whose staff would come up and use our gear, knowing how they always reported back to their manager, I made a comment just within earshot of them about a ficticious pay rise we had recieved, minutes later their manager shot across the road to the showroom where the boss of the whole business was, seconds later the boss rang me to say "What is this about a pay rise???" To which I pleaded ignorance , but said if you are offering?:):):)

K5T70977. Bought one of these recently for around £50 direct from China.

I recently bought a EGR valve from China big saving on price, however luckily I was able to test it before fitting using MaxiEcu scan tool, it fluttered a few times and then was getting hot in my hand, so was able to get a refund.:(

Originally, I bought one from ebay as a replacement because I was getting 406, 407 codes and every third start up an engine warning light as well as a sort of hesitancy around 2000 rpm and eventually a rough idle from cold. It came with a valve attached which I didn’t need and works fine but I wanted a spare. Tested the Chinese one and it passed. Actually appears better built.

I have used various chinese stuff with success , but this part was really poor, so very glad I was able to test before fitting as right down back of engine, totally out of site so all by feel.
