Hi -
I've got a ducato [2004 model] - it has a map holder integrated into the dash with the single din radio housing. Its all in one. I want to replace the single din radio with a double din unit. The map holder/housing screws off, but leaves no room to fit the double din, just a large open topped gap on my dash.

Can I get a double din facia to replace the mapholder/unit??
If not, then does anyone know any alternatives - I would really like to go with a double din unit.

Thanks, Martin.

HELP

Does anyone have a wiring diagramme for the carioca 656?

The main area I need is fuses as AFTER a auto electrician from the garage I bought the van from, put in a reversing camera(which comes on with the ignition)(installed badly now i have found out), it went off, I should of known as when he had fitted it I asked where the fuse was, and he went back and fitted one to the wire he installed to the camera...then pointed it out.

not really a big panic but now my leasure battery charger (whilst driving), is off. I found this out after a long journey on 12v fridge the red light on the electrical panel started flashing and the battery was down to 7V.this used to flash up & down when running but only works on 240v charger from under the seat, which I have to do now before I go anywhere.
when I looked at the wire at the spade area he tagged it into it had a little black mark which I presume is where it must of fused,

I have looked through all 4 fuse boxes 1 either side of the cab one behind drivers seat & one in the engine bay, slightly hap hazadly and tried to check the 3 fuses on the battery and swapped arround the all seam ok, so I am looking at either another fuse or relay somewhere, so can anyone help, please? with an area to look or where I can get a book/diagramme to follow???
I have just downloaded two ducato books but think these will not do for the carioca 656 as the ducato is just the body

So, is the Carioca 656 actually based on a Fiat Ducato 2.3ltr 110bhp Jtd? Cause it does matter. The Ducato has two fuse boxes in the cab, one on the battery under the bonnet and one on the other side of the engine bay. These you need to check in the books you have and make sure the relevant fuses are OK.

If you have another fuse box behind the drivers seat then that will be for the motorhome bit and you may need to go to a motorhome forum for information on that bit.

Problems with the fridge sending the leisure battery flat are likely due to a relay which is switching by the vehicle alternator D+ line. That relay will be giving power from the alternator to the leisure battery and to the fridge. You need to find that relay - it probably has a fuse in circuit and THAT is what you need to locate and check.

As you kind of said - nothing much to do with Ducato as such.

PS. Silly use of a totally unrelated opening post!

Hi
Sorry a very later reply, hope I'm not going to get someone's back up again.
But answer is yes (it turned out to be a very large fuse on the main battery that was blown) but not fully, I have still got red lights but found a relay on the second fuse panel (behind the steering wheel) is missing so will replace that when I remove a jimmied wire that goes to the fridge and powers the fridge relay. I don't want to blow anything
Thanks
I only posted as when I searched for Carioca panel it brought up the link to this site ( Ducato [ci carioca] Motorhome double din facia/panel) so put it on then I get harassed for placing it on a site which is for 2.3 Jts not the 2.0L wow how imperfect I am
