Hi all
I recently bought a ducato motorhome and i am having problems with the front side lights, when i turn them on they come on for about a second then go off, if i keep turning them off/on they come on for a second then go off, i have checked the fuses and changed the bulbs but am now stuck as to what else to check.

Any ideas/opinions as to what the problem could be, the bulb blown lamp is still continuously displayed on the dash, and doesnt flicker when turning the lights off/on.

Thanks In advance

I take it that this is a late model vehicle, after 06/07. The BCM is quite sophisticated and will detect not only bulb failure, but also overloads on that particular circuit. Have any extra side, grille, clearance lights been fitted, or has a relay for aux lighting been connected incorrectly. If you have high level tail/marker lights, remove the bulbs from these, see if the fault is still active. If it isn't, you will have to find where the extra lighting has been connected, and isolate it from the park/tail circuit. The dash illumination probably won't be monitored, so you can hook extra lamps to this circuit, but use a protected relay, and fuse any extra circuits.
If this isn't the fault, then you will have to check all lamps on that circuit, make sure they have the correct bulb sizes, and are earthed correctly.
