Hi all. Still having no joy in starting my engine after long layup and water immersion incident.
Engine spins over ok, fuel pressure at common rail good. Doesn,t appear to be firing injectors. Engine rpm on starter around 140.
My question : will the fault p21cb stop it from starting? Reductant control module (NOx exhaust emissions control unit). low voltage.
Any advice on what to look for/test etc really appreciated.
Cheers

It certainly sounds like a corrosion/poor connection at one of the ECU or BCM modules.
What was the depth of immersion and salt water or fresh (if salt get rid of vehicle):(
Some years ago I bought a Ford cheap that had inhaled water, apart from the expected bent con rod/low compression, due it having been stood for six months (it may have been even more depending on if you believe the vendor) I also found the injectors pintles/jets corroded and blocked so needing stripping and ultrasonic clean, I also found the ECU which on that model was behind a plastic cover in wheel arch had corroded connector plug.
I assume good engine compressions?
The other thing I have found is gearbox oil emulsified/full of water and creamy, needing a thorough flush and new oil, apart from any engine issues.
Many years ago down our way, it was common to see tourists with expensive speed boats and brand new Range Rovers try to launch their boats when the tide was right out, against local advice, then getting stuck in the soft sand, loads of four wheel drive wheel spin digging down into the sand, so by the time if they were lucky and the incoming tide had only got half way up the doors before heavy recovery pulled them out, I used to think, some poor sod will buy that from a Dealer once it had been valeted and jet washed, thinking what a cracking good low mileage example they had bought only to find in six months time it was rotting out, brake seizing and loads of electrical issues!
