General ducato 2.0 diesel gearbox pre oct 06

Dont know if it's the right place to put this, but im looking for a gearbox for my ducato pre oct 2006 5 speed diesel. it wont go into 2nd wont come out of reverse and noisey like hell, so i take it it's banjacksed !!!

Am i right in saying that the 2.0 jtd gearbox in the ducato is the same as the puegeot boxer/citroen relay 2.0 hdi box? if that makes sense, just trying to sus out exactly what to look for as if i can get a citroen relay box to suit? cant find any used ducato gearboxes with low miles in ireland and a recon box fitted will put me back a grand .

Will a gearbox from a boxer 2006 2.0 td fit a ducato 2006 2.0jtd ?

Has anyone here been in the same situation?

hi mate
im in roscommon and have a 2003 boxer,ive tried for months for info on gearboxes ,or manuals ,books, to no avail.
i called a breakers in tip and got a 2004 box which he wasnt sure would fit,but turns out is perfect fit.i think there same upto 2006.
