Can anyone tell me if there is a handbook/manual for the Dualogic? I was told by the dealer he doesn't have one, but I remember someone saying on this forum that it does exist. If so, any idea on how to get my hands on one?

Hey Luvduvs

Just read your other thread. Geeez!! One of the reasons I bought a new car was so that I wouldn't end up in situations like that. I hope you get it all sorted - what a rotten day for you.

For your info - there is a Dualogic manual - it's a supplement to the main manual and is only about 10 pages or so. I got it from the dealer who initially said that there wasn't one but it arrived in the post a few days later.

I don't have access to a scanner otherwise I could have sent it on to you but if you need any info let me know.

That's precisely what I thought when I decided to buy a new car rather than a used one - obviously I was wrong! (BTW there's an update on the situation if you're interested - https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto/88808-our-5-5-hour-ordeal-two-month-old-gp-dualogic.html )

Yeh I thought the manual existed; it would be silly selling someone a product but have no documentation on it whatsoever. I'll push the dealer for one the next time I speak to them. I do appreciate your feedback and thought of sending me a copy though. In the meantime would you be able to tell me if in the manual it mentions anything about things/actions that would damage the Dualogic? Thanks :)

Here are a few of the "Important Notes" from the handbook:

- During prolonged halts with the engine running it is advisable to keep the gearbox in N
- To safeguard clutch efficiency do not use the accelerator to keep the car still
- If in R, first gear is to be engaged or vice versa only when car is stopped completely with the brake pedal pressed
- When needed with the engine off you can change gear with the key on MAR and the brake pedal depressed. In this case the instructions required to change the gear letting at least 5 seconds pass between one gear shift and the other in order to preserve proper operation of the hydraulic system.
- Opening the driver's door will make the system activate the hydraulic section in order to prepare it for the next engine starting

Buzzer indications - With the car stationary, the engine running and gear 1, 2 or R engaged, the system activated the buzzer and automatically shifts to N when - no action is made on the accelerator and or brake pedals for at least 3 minutes, the brake is pressed for over 10 minutes, the driver door is open and the accelerator and brake are not touched for 1.5 sec, and when a gear box failure has been detected.

Do not rest your hand on the gear lever!!

Here is a list of the Warning Lights and Messages ( let me know if you need more info )

Dualogic Transmission Failure, Reduce Gears, Manual Mode Not Available, Automatic Mode Not Available, Clutch Overtemperature, Push Brake Pedal- Delayed Startup, Gear Not Available, Operation Not Allowed, Push Brake Pedal - Repeat Operation , Set to Neutral

( In all cases it says that if the message stays on to contact Fiat Dealership)

Thanks mate you're a legend! (y)(y)

Does it mention what the error message 'Push Brake Pedal - Delayed Startup' means? This was the one I got previously trying to start the car.

(Also my initial error message was 'Check transmission handbook', which I didn't have.. haha :)

There isn't any mention of " Check Transmision Handbook " ( sounds like someones twisted sense of humour ! ) but under Push Brake Pedal - Delayed Startup it says :

Messages are displayed in turns and in sequence on the reconfigurable multifunction display, together with the buzzer to indicate brake pedal failure when trying to start the engine.

IMPORTANT Messages are displayed only if at startup a gear other than neutral(N) is engaged.

I will be getting my digital camera back at the end of next week ( on loan to my sister ) so if you don't have any luck getting a handbook I will give it a try - let me know.

That's Italian humour for ya.. (joking alright - no intention to **** anyone off :))

Anyway don't worry about it mate, I don't want to trouble you any further. I'm entitled to have dealer give me the manual and I intend to get one off him :slayer:

Appreciate your efforts - thanks!
