Driver's side boot release handle thingymobobby

The small handle down by the drivers seat that releases the bonnet, well it dont work anymore, i think ive damaged it when i removed the towbar because i had to get the spare wheel out a few times.

I've not had a good look at it yet but its likely to have come off the lock mechanism in the boot. Anyone know if its a fixer or will i have to mess aboot putting a new cable on?

First check if the cable is connected to the handle near the drivers side, if it is, get this part in the boot off

and see what is whit the cable in there. Is it connected to the lock, if not reconnect it.
