Just a quickie....

Had the clutch and cambelt done last week, all running alrite except its using £25 in a week of work and back when it used to cost £15.

I know prices have gone up but would it be drinking due to the battery being disconnected while clutch being done and it re-learning?

Just wanted backup on this otherwise I might take it back.

Also my air-con is knackered and makes a hell of a noise but have just noticed the aircon pipe running to the bottom of the engine has sheared off.... would this make any difference if I don't use the air con?

your air con pump will go round regardless.


your ECU will be learning how you drive... so if you've driven like a racing driver since you got it back.. then it will pour loads of fuel into the 5 pot for you

Was just needing backup on that idea. Have been booting it a bit so perhaps I should take it steady for a bit.
How many miles until it settles down?

I'm not damaging anything with the air-con broke am I?
It's really noisey but been like that since I bought it. Garage said to get it serviced but I might just buy a new one in the summer if it's ok to drive for now.

I also have a loud clunk when I start the car.
Only when the engine fist turns, like I've dumped the clutch and it wants to pull the car apart with the torque.
This has only happened when It's been really cold outside....
Any ideas?

I thought maybe and engine mount as It has a clunk when going over sleeping policemen.

Running the aircon without gas will wear out the seals in the pump. They use the gas as a lubricant.

If I'm not using the air-con will it matter?

The pipe has sheared off but sounds just like it did before.

Garage said to get it serivced but I'm not going to use it until summer so do I just wait until then and get a new one?

Disconnect the battery for an hour, re connect and drive it sensibly for a week
