I recently bought a 2024 Fiat 500e (Inspired by Music, less than 500 miles now), and have an issue with the UConnect panel.

While driving a few days ago, a software update started while I was driving. It said "don't drive the car and keep the parking break on", but I was already on the highway. The update completed before I reached my destination, I got several "update failed" messages, then it rebooted.

The UConnect panel now no longer shows any errors, but there are plenty of new problems:
  • Volume buttons/knob doesn't work (slider in menu works)
  • Sometimes, the "decrease volume" input is detected constantly, setting volume to 0
  • Voice command button doesn't work
  • Cabin air controls flash randomly
  • Temperature is a random number (anywhere between -100 and 200)
  • I get many "charging interrupted" warnings while driving, pausing my sound (can happen multiple times a minute)
  • I can't access vehicle settings (says I need to turn my car on, even when the car is driving)
Effectively being unable to use the sound system in my car is a big deal. I called support, and they recommended I go to a dealership. My nearest dealership is awful to work with, they don't answer the phone or respond to emails.

I'm wondering if there's anything I can do on my own. Is there ANY way for me to either:
  • Downgrade the UConnect software
  • Factory reset the UConnect panel
  • Disable "charging interrupted" warnings
I already tried unplugging the 12v battery to reboot the car.

Have you reset to factory settings on the central screen? That often sorts things after an update.

Can you tell me how to perform a factory reset? I've tried looking it up but the methods I've found don't work:
  • Press and hold the volume and tuner knobs for 10 seconds: My car does not have these knobs
  • Go to Vehicle/Settings: it says "Turn vehicle to Run or Key On to access menu" no matter what, even if I have it in drive

I think that's the mk1
Go to Vehicle/Settings: it says "Turn vehicle to Run or Key On to access menu" no matter what, even if I have it in drive
Press and hold the volume wheel between the seats until the central screen reboots, then see if you can get at settings. If not then it's dealer time.

There are hard reset methods in the post below but you might struggle with Method 1 if the touchscreen is unresponsive.
