hi, i have a fiat grande punto 2007 door problem will not open from inside then i was driveing the same day the door flew open took me three times to shut it, its drivers side door. thanks liam.
take off your doorcard and check everythings connected, iirc theres a wire or something going from the handle to the lock. as for your door not closeing, stiff lock maybe? sticking in the open posistion? wd40 on the lock mechanism would probs sort that.

Very common problem especially with the first series happened to mine a couple years ago. Need to buy a new door lock mechanism, always one on ebay or parts world etc...
I've had the same problem with my car. The door won't open from inside so had to open window and the open the door.
The problem is that it needs a new door lock mechanism. It needs a new mechanism. The old Grande are common for this fault but the new ones have been changed.
It would take time but its not that difficult of a job. Take door panel off. The clear seal. And release clips from inside then release the electric clip and remove the mechanism from opening the screws outside. Replace same way as taken off.
You don't really need a new mechanism, I've had this happen twice and it's caused each time by catching the open button on the remote whilst pulling the inside door handle.
In a way you do need a new one to avoid this happening, I'm fairly certain its a design problem as Fiat have conveniently put an hole in the top of the mechanism for you to put a screwdriver in and reset the parts.
The inside door handle mechanism pushes on the part used by the outside handle and central locking, whats happens if you pull inside handle and the remote is the inside handle parts slip past the opening mechansim and your stuck.
To make things worse, if the handle/cable from the inside is stiff, the door is difficult to close.
