General Door locking probs

Afternoon all.

I have recently been experiencing problems with locking the car!! I lock the car and 2 to 3 minutes later it will open all by itself and when you're driving the lights indicate that the boot is open when it's not.

Does any body have any ideas what it may be??

The warning sounds like the door switch on the tailgate is faulty, I had the same problem with my bonnet.

If the car thinks that the tailgate is open I think this could unlock the doors and turn off the alarm. Although I would expect it to beep at you and not lock the doors at all, but I still think the two problems are connected.

I would get the tailgate switch sorted and see if that solves your problems

hi we have a 1996 ulysse and the problem was the sliding door catch ill try and explain if you open the sliding door the catch on the body of the car [not the row of circle discs on the door they controle the interior lights]there is small micro switch in it all we did was to drop it a little and when the door shuts the latch switches the micro switch and tells the car all doors are shut .you can test it open your sliding door try and lock the car it locks and unlocks,now put your finger on the small micro switch lock the car it will lock but if you take your finger of the micro switch the car unlocks itsself hope this helps.oh been on holiday hence answering old questions
