I SET THE PISTON HEIGHT WITH FOUR RODS AND LOCKED THE CAM IN PLACE, HAD BATTERY DISCONECTED TO RESET ECU WHILE I DID THIS, CHANGED THE BELT AND CAM SEAL, WAS DOING THIS TO STOP A BAD OIL LEAK.NOW WHEN I TURN IT OVER I GET UNBURNT FUEL CHUFFING BACK THROUGH THE AIR FILTER BUT NO MISEFIRE STILL GOT A STRONG SPARK AT THE PLUGS, CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT POSITION SHOULD THE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY SENSOR MARK SHOULD BE WHEN THE PISTONS ARE ALL LEVEL. NEED CAR FOR TOMORROW AND I KNOW ITS SOME THING STUPID PLEASE HELP..

Am I right in assuming that the camshaft sprocket was loose on the camshaft until the timing belt was tensioned and tightened fully when belt was done?

figured it out thanks, like a plonker, i had set the crank at 45 degrees THE WRONG WAY,when i took the belt of and removed the campulley, i didnt realise thatthe cam had no locating sproket, so bought a book, set the pistons at half mast but on the wrong side so timing was 180 degrees out.
