Technical does 04 plate ulysse 1.9 td need 'fly wheel' replaced when replacing the clutch

a garage just told me that to replace the clutch on my ulysse (04 place 1.9 td) I would also have to have a fly wheel replace, that labour would be 8 or 9 hours... total bill therefore inc vat bumped up to around £900... sounds really steep to me?? is the fly wheel really necessary to replace? please
