Styling Doblo maxi build

So I thought I’d start my build on here to show my progress and also ask for help if I find anything you guys might be able to help with.

I’ve always liked the newer shape doblos (2010-) and recently bought one as a day / works van. I work in the outdoors industry but I also travel a lot so didn’t want anything bigger really.

I have a 1.3mjet with about 100k on the clock. Roughly done about 1500miles and I really rate it. A lot better on fuel then I had read from what owners have said. Getting around 670miles to a tank(unloaded) driving fairly slowly but mostly on motorways.

Bed in the back.

Work done so far...

Started off by stripping the racking...

Added a sunstrip...

Added roof rails and rack...


Sorted out an issue I had with my lights not adjusting and got a control panel with fogs on it for future plans...

Added the upgraded Delphi stereo... which doesn’t work “code error”

Added Abarth 500 handbrake...

And to round off today was some stickers







Few more things to add but getting there...

Good luck with the conversion mate looking forward to seeing the progress. They are great wee Vans for economy first one I had on hire I thought the fuel gauge was broken.Cheers Woolfie.

Van update *

Been quite busy with work recently so not had much time to do much on the van. Few bits and bobs done.

Rear load area- The van style doblos have a fake floor just behind the front seats which is removed on the combo versions. It’s actually quite a bit of space so my plan here was to remove the floor and install a flip floor so I can use this space for storage or a leisure battery [emoji367].

But cleaned up nicely!


Insulation- On my last van build (Renault master) I went for a few different layers. If I’m honest, I’m not going to be spending days on days in the van during the colder months so on reflection I went with a product called E-Low. Foil closed core type which was both lightweight and only 5mm thick so didn’t take up to much space. Floor, sealing and wheel arches done [emoji106]

Last one for the night...

Next few jobs are finishing off the panelling in the back and mainly install a few more lights.
