Hello,
I'm replacing my shocks and springs, as well as the top mounts. What I noticed was that the aftermarket top mounts (which are side specific) are the reverse of what I have on the car. For example, on the right side, the original mount is installed with the 'buttress' to the front. The replacement part for the right side has the buttress to the rear. I checked the part as well as different brands and they are all the same.
If I install according to the new parts, the caster of the wheels will probably change. It's a weird situation. I came across only one forum where some lads in Poland had the same issue. One of them called Fiat and were told that it was a question of manual vs power steering and how the catalogue left mount should be on the right side on the PS cars. I didn't even know that Doblo's came with manual steering.
Has anyone else noticed this issue with replacement mounts?
Thanks,
Tom
