I have a very lovely muffler form DNX fitted to my Stilo. It sounds lovely and looks lovely. Well, looked lovely to be precise.

Today I had the whole middle section of my exhaust changed. Lunchtime I picked the car up and drove to work which is about 500 metres away. Happy, leak gone, new part nice and shiny, me 200 quid lighter.

On my way home I noticed loud banging noises from the back. I stopped and had a look and the muffler is now hitting the left spring which inflicted some damage on my shiny muffler. The dent is about 2 cm deep. When I looked again I noticed another one on the other size, runing across the whole side. Deep and nasty. I am still very angry when I am writting this, surely the garage should be held responsible.

Feel like k*****g them :bang: Deep breathe !!!

Do I stand any chance ...what do you reckon ??

I will pay them very early morning visit ...

The best thing is to take deep breaths  and think about what to do.

Legally, the garage is responsible, but it is very hard to prove. :bang:

I would go in with a very calm frame of mind :D and reason with them. At no point is it going to go your way if you loose your temper. :slayer:

Also I would be prepared to compromise to get a result. :worship:

Let us know how you get on. (n)(y)

Zen is master , be like duck  and think of pink fluffy things. :p

I had a closer look and discovered the problem. They used OEM rubbers instead of the ones which were supplied, muffler is now about 5 cm lower. To make things even worse, instead of using the original clamp, they welded the muffler on around the original clamp. They just cut the old part off and welded the new one on without thinking. :bang::bang:
