OK, so 'back in the day' one of my favourite no bullshit motoring reads was Cars and Car Conversions. It died, but from the ashes rose Practical Performance Car which is now the only car mag I get on a monthly (yes, I even gave up on Auto Italia). Go see more at http://www.ppcmag.co.uk/

I digress.
One of the most interesting pieces in this months issue is without doubt the piece on 'ebay tuning mods'. Buy it, read it and feel smug in the knowledge that some silly sod other than you went and bought some of the bits without reading the article first.......

For those who have just bought an MX5, it might be quite interesting :yes4:

Does the old tunning "mission statement" still apply...The three C's
Carbs
Cams
Compression

Or does the quest for more power lie squarely in the multiplex world of the ECU tunner?

The piece centres on those popular tuning bits folk buy on eBay..... so remaps, and the three 'C's are out of this one.
The bits tested on a 1.6 MX5 were:
1. Cone filter.
2. Electric supercharger.
3. Uprated plug leads.
4. Exhaust.
5. Fuel boost (octane improver).
It is worth buying the magazine chaps, but work it out for yourselves which worked and which.... errr.... didn't
