Can anyone recommend me a free program to do disk imaging.

Instead of the usual install all the apps etc, which takes hours, i want to start taking images of the computers hard drives.

I'm forever sorting out my mates laptops so taking an image of them would save me hours of work, and i want to take an image of my good old trusty XP desktop, just in case the hard drive fails one day, i think it's about five years old now.

This really is free.

EASEUS Disk Copy

Copy all of your hard drive: Creating a bootable CD/DVD to copy entire disk.
Partition copy: Copy one partition to another sector by sector with a bootable CD.
Disk copy: Clone one disk to another sector by sector with a bootable CD.
Sector by sector copy: Makes physical 1:1 copies (clones) of hard disks and partitions which ensure 100% identity to the original.

I remembered one of the lads in work putting something on a memory stick for me, this was some time ago now, and i put the memory stick in my bag and completely forgot all about, until now that is.

Just booted-up one of the computers in work with the memory stick in it to see what happens. Low and behold it's only Acronis :worship:.

I'll be having a play around with it in the next few days.

Thanks for your replies guys (y)

Anyone know if a toshiba satelite L20 series laptop can be booted from a USB pen drive? When booting up i press the F12 key, and it brings up a boot menu, from here i get a choice, HDD, CD, LAN or floppy, no option for USB.

I want to take an image of the laptop now that it's had a nice clean fresh installation, and acronis is on the pen drive. If it can't be done then i'll use one of the other programs on a CD. (y)
