I've got a dillema!! I own a 97 Brava TD 100 which I love, now after lookin at some of your lovely Bravo's,I'm seriously contemplating swapping for a Bravo!! anyone give me of an idea what to expect for mine, its a 97(P) dark metallic green Td100,new MOT,6 mths tax, vgc, new cam belt,76k. Whats the best model Bravo to go for? is the 1.2 better than the 1.4? any to avoid?

bravo's

i own a 1.8hlx bravo 98s

avoid the 1.4 like the plague, sluggish and thirsty, it was a new engine design that sucks.

1.2 is good runner

try and get a td bravo, they are more difficult to come buy as their good and no one wants to let go.

get a hgt if you got the dough and don't have high insurance premiums, its a 2 litre 155bhp and moves like **** off a shovel! but thristy ish....not as much as the 1.4 however!

Well the 1.2 is a Mark II and the 1.4 is a Mark I ( they changed the 1.4 for a 1.2 in 98)so yes if the small size is an issue go for the 1.2 .

Go to Autotrader.co.uk and look at what others are advertising there Brava's for then you will have a good idea on what price to sell at.

Re: Re: Dillema!!!!

2.0 HGT = Expensive to run, insure, thirsty and it doesnt feel like 155bhp

1.6 = cheap to run, insure and feels very nimble once over 3500rpm.

1.2 = gutless (in my opinion)

1.4 = Harry Bright

1.8 = 10bhp more than 1.6 but looks cooler.

Honest opinion there.

Re: Re: Re: Dillema!!!!

Im 23 and have a hgt 147 there not that expensive to run i get about 35mpg round town, they are only thirsty if you have a hevy foot (like we all do every now and then)just watch the cambelt.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Dillema!!!!

The 1.2 is a little marvel. Light, nimble, cheap to insure, none thirsty and shifts a bit too for a small engined car. Everyone who has driven mine are very suprised at it being a 1.2. Go find one and take it for a test drive. You will be VERY suprised

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Dillema!!!!

You'd be even more suprised if you drove my 1.2 :)

evil laugh

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Dillema!!!!

If so you can have a ride in a couple of different models :)

Mr Al

dillema!!

cheers for the advice folks, not sure if I can make the Feb 8th meet,I've checked out prices for my Brava and it looks like it's worth about £1500.I'm still undecided! lol

Re: Re: Re: Dillema!!!!

RR:
I realise it is your opinion but how can the 1.8 look cooler than the 1.6?
Unless you mean the 1.8 HLX compaired to the 1.6 SX.
Which is a fair comment.
My 1.6 HLX looks the same as the 1.8 HLX bar the badges and lack of A.b.s.
Glad to see you have mended your ways.
I now often find your advice helpful.

John.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Dillema!!!!

Yes, sorry John - that's what I meant.

I still maintain the HGT is expensive to run.

Even mechanics (non Fiat) say that the running costs are satrtling, when th car is maintained to manufacureres spec - and that excluded teh major camblet service.
