Does anyone know the address for any of the factories that manufacture DFS sofas? According the Wiki there are three in the north of England.

I am hoping to get replacement seat covers for my sofa without having to reupholster the whole thing which is otherwise solid and in great condition.

The sofa is discontinued (The Hemingway) and DFS have not responded to my email. If I could just find out where to buy the same fabric I could do it myself.


Any ideas?

DFS has factories in Carcroft, South Yorkshire, and Alfreton and Long Eaton in Derbyshire.

I am actually watching a few on ebay including that one, the problem is that they have most likely got the same wear issues on the seat covers. They are not torn, just tired looking and faded. DFS replied - £112 for EACH cover I need FIVE lol.


So I have asked a few places to send me fabric swatches and hopefully I can get a match.

I know DFS have "factories" in the UK but I think they're more like "warehouses" than actual factories that make a product.

Wasn't DFS involved in the "rash from new sofa's" thing a few years ago ?

Something to do with a chemical that was used by the Chinese manufacturers of their sofa's ?

This makes me think they import all their furniture and don't actually produce anything here in the UK ..

Yes whilst I have been Googling looking for covers I have found a few threads about that. My sofa is fine, I love it - SO comfortable and I have just had all the feather padding cleaned. The trouble is that when I Google 'DFS covers' it comes up with their insurance cover. Ill keep looking - thank you!
