After replacing the wiring harness with a Painless 10102 (and many thanks to Bernie Seneway and his excellent write-up) I have a very reliable Fiat. Today was an excellent example.
I left the house at 8am for a one-hour drive to Jefferson NC. I play softball in a senior league and my team plays against the Ashe County team on a regular basis. Beautiful clear skies, top down, high 60's, light jacket and ballcap.
On the way home I made it through Boone, down Rte 105S, and topped off my tank at the new Quality station in Foscoe. Their 93 octane is alcohol free. While there I looked at the sky, and wisely put the ragtop up. I had to take a left turn out of the station and traffic was a bit tight.
On the way home my wife called and informed me of a major accident on my route. There are two alternates- both 45 minutes or so out of my way. So I soldiered on.
Then the rain hit- a deluge. A little while further- traffic at a dead stop. For about 15 minutes, pouring rain the whole time. I had to use the defroster with my windows barely cracked. It was pretty hot in there.
My little Spider complained not a bit. Got us both home in one piece. 8)
