With the recession continuing and the company policy around company cars ever changing, combined with the fact that I live relatively close to work and the cars they give us incur quite a high tax impact I'm toying with the idea of jacking the whole company car thing in and getting a new car.
Tax and fuel contributions cost me about £230 a month and if I give the car up I'll be eligible for a £5k interest free loan to be paid off over 5 years. Can probably add another £5k to this myself so ~£10k budget.
Car must be aesthetically pleasing, 119g CO2/km or lower, hatchback preferably with 3 doors and comfortable on a run.
I already have a car in mind but thought I'd punt it on here for opinions and see what gets thrown up.
So first off, who can guess what I'm looking at and also, any suggestions?

Although 5 doors and above you CO2 limit, I can highly recommend Bravo 2 to you!!!

Driven a Bravo 2 and wasn't that impressed tbh. You can feel the Stilo under it and we all know what i think of those.
Would point out that the 1.6 oil burner is 119g CO2/km though.

No clues Mr Wim as I want some suggestions too. :)
Will probably wait until September so that I can either buy new and get the latest reg or pick up a great second hand deal. ;)
Let's face it, it's that or use the scrappage scheme and I don't think I could forgive myself if I did that. Certainly, if I did I think Tommy and Kate (and probably half our membership) would be 'round pretty sharpish to reintroduce the Eunach to the UK.

Count me in for that group too. That would be a crime of the highest order!

@ Tommy - Can't afford two cars (one for each butt cheek) so no.
@ Jayfish - Options open tbh.

well i did some hunts on autotrader for sub 1 year old cars for 10k, choice for 119 g/km seems limited to at best 09 fiesta's (which are supposed to be a nice compact), oh and a single Fiat Qubo...
Guessing that you may want larger for work milage, motorway cruising and occasional load lugging is it safe to assume you'd go to 3 year old to increase the choice?
