On a cold day last winter i got some kind of disco on the dash of my TA
ping... ping.... hill holder warning... ESP warning
As i read, this could be a weak battery
But it looks still ok, even Start Stop did work
Next, could be the ground strap
Also seems ok
The last one, the hatch wiring. It was rather cold so the wires got hard and some might be broken
Car runs fine, beside the disco light and sound, so i decided to wait for spring time and warmer conditions ;)
A few weeks ago i opened the hatch to see how the loom is looking
Awaiting lots o broken wires, but... nothing
So what now???
In the meantime i had noticed that the messages mostly appeared when i was hitting the brake pedal.
Also all the electrical things in the door did still work fine.
So i bought a new brake switch.
All errors have gone since then.
I opened the old switch, but it looks like new inside.
The switch is not only one switch, but two in a singel case
One switch is opening, while the other one is closing.
Maybe there has been some kind of timing problem.
But it also could have been a problem with a badly mounted switch
It's fixed by turning the switch about 90 degrees
I'm not shure, but i think it was not turned so far as it should have been.
But i'm to lasy to mount the old switch again to see if what the reason was.

So if you have the same errors it might be worth to check te brake switch

regards Jo
