Dash mount/Window mount for digicams?

Over the years I've occassionally seen these displayed at all the shows, you must have all seen them?
Some of them have sticky feet which attach to the window like a PDA/satnav would.
I'd like one to use with my new video camera to film convoys to shows and what not, but I have no idea what I'm looking for plus I think they are most likely to be expensive
if anyone knows where to look can you put me in the right direction or give me some suggestions on what to do.

I tried using velcro but it didn't work

its on that idea, thanks kev.

jug on fiatforum suggested that I modify a PDA/phone holder to take it, but the camera itself is a lot heavier than a phone!

your probably best of modifying a sat nav holder tbh mate, find one for a similar sized nav unit, and reposition the cradle so that the top of the cradle is on the bottom of the mounting arm, with the cam just resting on the dash to stabalise it, maybe with some soft padding underneath to eliminate some of the shocks from the road

actually the SM2 on that second link for 40quid looks good but not sure if it would tilt for a front facing angle on a sloping windscreen?

If you are going to make your own I would go for a sat nav mount welded or glued to a 4.99 normal camera tripod, got them in asda tescos etc, should do the trick.
