Damn mirror base plates!!

Hi Everyone, I'm new on here and need some help!

I've just bought a Bravo 1.2 16v on an x Reg, 61 k in great nick for £1500.

Only thing wrong with it is the base plates for the mirror have got all the black paint peeled off showing the base metal.

Does anyone know hoe I can go about fixing this so the car looks as sweet as it should?

And why didn't Fiat prime it first?!!!!!!

the great idea is stripping them down, sanding them then painting them... i did mine gloss black instead of body coloured, takes some time but is doable none the less, just need a door prep and good primer

dom - how many miles has your car done? if >50k you should check service history to make sure the cambelt has been changed - if it hasn't you should change it.

I`m writin, with pics, a `how to guide` over weekend and then postin it to Wimmy so don`t worry all is not lost matey, and after i`ve done it i`ll have a spare base plate to get rid off, as i`ve already done mine, so just hang on in there
