Well, my daughters car was parked on a main road and she's had her radio nicked (I don't know how many times I told her to remove the front panel :bang: )

So, end result... one knackered passenger lock and door which I can now open with a twig. What gives here? Are they well known for it or something?

Anyway - could anyone offer any places to get new lock (or second hand) for the door if poss? I'm reluctant to get a full new lock set as I have seen the price of them. I mean, the car only cost £700. It's a 4 door / Mk1 P reg/1996 1.1SX with central locking.

cheers.

u see it all the time when the lock isnt on the handle they flick it off with a knife, easy target :( i never leave anything in my car

as for the locks cold you not get them from the scrappy and just use seperate keys to open door/start engine or get both locks smoothed off and get a remote locking:)

Is fitting remote central locking easy to fit? I wouldn't even know where to start to get a kit for it from?

ps - tribalwars, great game.

I would seriously consider getting an alarm fitted of some sort, even one that just detects when the interior lights come on, cost about £50 fitted, will link into the central locking and deter thieves big time; 'Oh no, a flashing LED!'

May even lower your insurace cost too... Any Halfords or decent car mod shop can help.

I had this happen to me too when I had the Punto - Never got in though but made a hell of a mess of the door with thier screwdriver! Bent it out from the top about 4-5inches! Stupid buggers left thier prints too! Cops got them about a week later and it turned out they done 6 cars that night!! Even an LED Blinker will deter an inexperienced crook(s).
