Cutting out a restrictor

The MAP has the CAT/DPF written out of it. Any sensors relating to the CAT/DPF are voided, bypassed if you like.

Usually results in quite a healthy power gain as the exhaust gases are able to escape to atmosphere much easier allowing turbos to spool up alot quicker.

cool, i have learnt something today. it is item 1 in the first pic that i thought was the dpf. i have replaced it on my jtd and got a full s/s exhaust on the car. it spools up quicker and i have recently noticed the boost when you put your foot down comes in at about 28psi then settles to 23psi.

thats a boost spike from de restricted exhaust side, its spooling too freely.mine can spike upto 26psi on standard map, if your tuner who wrote your map is helpful they may be able to rewrite the vnt control map to stop it spiking so much (if you want it less).failing that a vnt actuator rod adjustment may also soften the spike.
