crome exhaust system

Guys,
Im looking at getting a new crome exhaust system fitted to my 80sx, "yeh i know its a slow car" but what kind of extra performance am i looking at "bhp" wise??? i was gonna get it chipped but will i really notice an extra 10bhp that much for £275????

are you sure you dont mean stainless steel, you would have to pay a hell of a lot of cash for a chrome one, alot more than £275 anyway.

I too have an 80sx but just went for a stainless steel backbox with twin 3" pipes. Its a custom built one from a place in Lancashire called Blue Flame Performance. It cost me £170.

No increase in performance as far as I can see but then that means the insurance doesnt go up

cant see any point to engine mods in a 1.2 as the insurance would kill you. Simply by a 1.6 for loads more power and the insurance will be cheaper than a 1.2 with mods.

Ok so i got it wrong! its a stainless steel exhaust! but anyway! whimmy "you say my insurance would go up like mad, not a problem, they wont find out about it" ha ha ha, anyway, anyone answer my original question???? what kind of performance will i get from it......

my major problem is, i dont think 1st 2nd are a problem, but the 80sx just dies in 3rd,,,,,how can i cure that little snag. ill be happier with the car then. anyone have the answer..... plzzzzzz

unless you do a straight through system with manifold and loose the cat then an exhaust will have little or no effect on an 80 sx - maybe if you combine it with an induction kit you might get a little more pull in 3rd but dont expect magic

also I hope your car doesnt get stolen cuz if its recovered a burnt out wreck by the police with a non standard exhaust your insurance company wont be giving you a penny

On top of the above, you smash into someone else and you have a modded car and aint told your insurance = deep do do!
