Just for reference.

Had my front tyres replaced, slightly early with around 2.5mm tread left, at 23123 miles from new.

I consider this perfectly acceptable especially as I tow a caravan for 3000+ miles per year including up into the Italian Dolomites.

These tyres were the original Bridgestone Turanza fitments.

With reference to the Croma rear tyre wear.

Since having a full 4 wheel track and new rear tyres in Dec 2007 at 11,438 miles I tread check shows I still have about 8mm depth left. So in 12K miles rear tyre wear is now minimal on Kumho Ecsta Sport KU31 - 215/50ZR17 95W XL tyres.

I have a Croma on 215/50/17 the Bridgestones are good but very expensive, anyone had experience with a cheaper but ok tyre

I may have said this before, I got a set of 159 215/50/17 wheels with Michelin Primacy, might have done 50 miles, total cost £300. Tyres alone would be near £600. What can I do with the old 18's with good Bridgestone Potenzas.?

I am running Barum Bravius 2's on the front ( Made by Continental ) which after 6000 miles are running very well with only 0.5mm wear from new. Far better than the Goodyear NCT 5's that I had before that had worn 1.5mm in 6000 miles.

Expect to pay £65 - 75 for the Barum tyre.

Classifieds? Ebay (advertised as good for Vectras etc)? Keep them for track days :D ? I sold mine but wish I'd kept them as I reckon the car looks sooooo much nicer with them on

Given the state of the roads round here after the snow and ice I'm considering balloon tyres..
